I want to come right out and say it: This is not a review site comparing a selection of the many great online piano lessons and courses out there.
In this article I will tell you about my very own – and very popular – online piano course “Piano in 3 Weeks”.
I have no doubt that my piano course in fact IS the best online piano course – for some people….for others – not so much.
You see – it of course depends on what you more specifically are looking for. So let me hurry up and tell you a bit about what my piano course is – and what it’s not!
I have more than 35 years of piano teaching experience. One of the things I have learned is that most of my students really don’t want to become classical concert pianists.
They want to enjoy playing their favourite pop and rock songs – and they want to achieve a usable skill level as fast as possible. The less tedious practise and theory the better.
Because almost all modern songs in the genres of pop, rock, soul, country and more genres are built on chords – the logical consequence of this is to learn to play chord piano.
There are some great advantages to learning how to play chord based piano: this skill can be learned at it’s basis in a matter of weeks. This means that you get usable results much faster than if you start by learning to read sheet music – notes.
Getting good at reading sheet music can take many years – especially if you start out as an adult.
Therefore – if you are looking for piano lessons that will teach you to play just about ANY contemporary pop or rock song then my course “Piano in 3 Weeks” is the best choice out there. (..I modestly write..)
If you, on the Other hand, are looking for a more traditional approach – learning sheet music and playing classical music – my course is absolutely not right for you.
