How to play the F Sharp Minor Chord on your piano or keyboard

From the chord symbol F#m we get the following information:

  • The F#m chord has the note F# as root note
  • The F#m chord is a 3-note chord (a triad)
  • The F#m chord is a minor chord

Because F#m is a 3-note chord it also has 3 inversions:

  • Root inversion
  • 1st. inversion
  • 2nd. inversion

F#m chord – Root inversion (basic inversion) looks like this: F# – A – C#
