Falsetto is a vocal register that allows singers to produce notes above their normal chest voice. It is most commonly associated with male singers, although singers of any gender can use falsetto.
What is falsetto?
In falsetto, the vocal folds vibrate differently than in the chest voice, producing a lighter, breathier tone with fewer overtones. This technique enables singers to reach higher pitches than they can comfortably sing in their normal speaking register.
