F-sharp minor is a minor key based on the note F-sharp. Its key signature contains three sharps: F#, C# and G#.
What is F-sharp minor?
The F-sharp natural minor scale consists of the notes F#, G#, A, B, C#, D and E. Its relative major is A major, which shares the same key signature.
The primary chords in F-sharp minor are F-sharp minor (i), B minor (iv) and C-sharp minor (v). In harmonic minor, the dominant chord is often changed to C-sharp major or C#7 by raising the seventh scale degree to create a stronger resolution.
