G minor is a minor key based on the note G. Its key signature contains two flats: B♭ and E♭.

What is G minor?

The G natural minor scale consists of the notes G, A, B♭, C, D, E♭ and F. Its relative major is B-flat major, which shares the same key signature.

The primary chords in G minor are G minor (i), C minor (iv) and D minor (v). In harmonic minor, the dominant chord is often changed to D major or D7 by raising the seventh scale degree to create a stronger resolution.
